  • The process by which we look for “vertebral subluxations” (learn more)
  • How our chiropractor will remove these subluxations through specific, scientific chiropractic adjustments

GONSTEAD CHIROPRACTIC ASSESSMENT:
The next step is having your assessment completed. This assessment will include:

  • Nervoscope Assessment: Checking for Inflammation and Nerve Pressure
  • Static Palpation of Your Spine, feeling for presence of sweeling, tenderness and any abnormal textures or tightness in the muscles and tissues.
  • Range of Motion and Motion Palpation
  • Digital X-Ray Analysis
  • MRI Review (If you have already, we can order if needed)

DIGITAL SPINAL X-RAYS
The chiropractor may request Chiropractic Postural Spinal X-rays. These help provide information such as:

  • Position of spinal bones in relation to where the nerves sit
  • Disc Conditions
  • Health of the spine

There are a number of reasons why X-rays won’t be requested:

  • Pregnancy
  • Under age
  • Recent usable spinal x-rays (in the last year)
  • Specific medical conditions

We do them on your first visit so that our chiropractor has time to make his measurements and markings on them prior to you returning for your second visit.

*If you have already had x-rays done, or any other diagnostic tests (MRI, CT Scan, etc.), then please bring them into our office on your first visit.

WHAT TO EXPECT ON YOUR SECOND VISIT:
Your second visit is your Doctor’s Report. This is approximately 60 - 90 minutes long.

At this free educational report, our chiropractor will review:

  • Education of Normal and Abnormal Spinal Health
  • The results from your gonstead chiropractic assessment
  • The results of your chiropractic postural X-rays
  • Give you specific instructions on how you can obtain the best possible results

Once the report is done, you will receive your first specific, scientific Gonstead chiropractic adjustment

GONSTEAD CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT

After a complete analysis and review, Dr. Hetland's specialized technique (Gonstead Technique) focuses on being as specific, precise and accurate as possible to the affected vertebrae segment that needs it, addressing only the problem area.

Great care is taken to ensure mechanically correct position and precise adjustment to provide the most accurate and painless adjustment possible.

Chiropractic was founded in 1895, and Dr. Clarence Gonstead started developing his unique approach using his mechanical engineering background and extensive hours spent studying cadaver spines that made him arguably the worlds best and most famous Chiropractor.

Dr. Gonstead's last clinic built is still to this day the largest to have existed to date. The Images below are of Dr. Gonstead and the Gonstead Clinic of Chiropractic located in Mt. Horeb, WI.
